 Criticool PowerPlant PCI Relay Card.

Titch looks at a simple, effective and safe way to start your pump with your computer without any modding required.

"On the front mounting plate you have the power input socket and a toggle switch to allow you to turn the pump on or off independently of the PSU. This enables you to fire your pump up with the system turned off. Vital when it comes to bleeding your system and checking for leeks."

Lazer Beam Kit.

Now it is JohnL's turn to have some fun with an excellent lighting effect kit form those illuminating people at Flexiglow..

"The 3 lights together produce a blinding amount of light, exact specs aren't available but they appear to be much greater than my 2200mcd LEDs that I have"

Cold Cathode and Flexiglow Cable™ Kits.

Titch adds to his huge collection of lights with this excellent cold cathode and not trouble free flexi cable...

"the rich and vibrant red produced by the cathode is easily one of the best I have owned and one I have yet to see bettered."

Modding Gear.

Few modding bits today nothing spectacular but great stuff all the same.

Flavour of the Week

With the release of the new Intel 865 and 875 chipsets this week, I have seen a huge array of motherboards sporting such chipsets.

This one from Spode's Abode doesn't have the new chipsets but it's nice review and a great board.
Read it here

This one does have a 875 Chipset but its only a tiny review.

865 from Sharkys extreme, this time a comparison i875P, E7205 and nForce2 dual-channel DDR platforms.

Iwill DP533 dual XEON processor motherboard from whining dog looks at the server side of mobos.

Lastly not a motherboard review more of an editorial. A bit of a Box Social at Chaintech Reloaded 2003.

Springdale.

Sounds like some quiet sub-burb of out state New York but it is no less than Intel's Latest chipset.
With the recent increase in Pentium 4 Front Side Bus from 533 - 800 there is a need for progression.

And as is normal comes a flood of manufacturers fighting to be the first to get their board OUT

So in no preferable order at all...

The ABIT IS7 from OC Addiction

HEXUS and BiT-Tech Both try out the P4P800 from ASUS.

Techware Labs look into the AX4SG from AOpen. Normally AOpen are associated with Budget boards but this time they have pulled out ALL the stops.

And Last but not least OC Addiction take a look into FIC VL11PE motherboard.

Something OLD, Something NEW.

No its not wedding bells you hear but bells of Merriment with these two Graphics card reviews.

The GURU of 3D has just got his hands on the latest GeForce FX 5900 nVidia's Flagship card. It boost 256mb of RAM running over a 256-bit wide bus. For those that not sure what that means, it means its FAST.eek.gif
Reading this review my cause eye Strain.

Now For the enthusiast that loves squeezing every last drop out their purchases.
Hardfind have taken an original 'Built By ATI' 9500 and Overclocked it within an inch of its life.
Most of us have flashed the BIOS on our motherboards, but this details how to nerve rackingly flash your GFX BIOS.

Definatley worth a try while we all wait for the 9900 from ATI.devil.gif

Let there be lights.

http://www.modthebox.com/reviews/madlights/madlights/madlights4_new.jpg

MODTHEBOX Take a look at these Flashy light kits. Called MADLights they are not kidding. Looking at the movie they really are MAD

Who said Ligths have to be inside your case...mad.gif

TiTch on many occasions has shown that this is never the case. Partly because he doesnt have a case.bigsmile.gif
But with these USB powered Disco Neons Even a monkey like TiTch can't go wrong.

Modfather SPAWN...

One of The Modfathers forum folk Adam Beazley have decided to follow in a few foot steps and created a fantastic Mod.

Its a Great Hard Drive mod with so much care and skill gone into it.
The Whole forum post can be read HERE towards the bottom.

Here's a picy of the Mod.

WELL DONE to Adam on a job well done.

We have LOTS of Fans.

Looks like its some of the others that have got them this week.

http://www.monster-hardware.com/images/topics/pr_11.jpg

Monster Hardware do a great little mod. Not only is it something different but its modding a Pre-modded product. Titled DIY UV LED Case Fan Mod it certainly is a bit of a different mod tongue.gif

Modsynergy take a look at the Eumax B605-01 Nickel Plated Copper HSFany good for a $8 Heatsink???

Envy News try to compare th Thermal Take 7 against its new family member the Thermaltake Volcano 11 Xaser Edition its NOISY but does it work??

Club Overclocker tinker with a nice little modders fan in the Vantec Spectrum UV Fans.

We're on the case.

Cases, Cases Everywhere! So where's mine?? Oh yeah it's HERE.

But here are a few others to tempt you:

HighTekPC have just been sent a Green Acrylic Case for Xoxide. Wonder who this design came from??rolleyes.gif

GruntvillE have run their fingers round the Chenming X-Sonic Aluminum Mid-Tower. Did they draw Blood?? Doubt it looking at the quality of the case.

MODTHEBOX reviews the Sunbeam AC-C Acrylic Mid-Tower Case. Great review as normal from MTB. However this is an extract...

"The final step in the installation process is to fasten the drive bay
covers to the chassis. This is one area where Sunbeam really deviates from
the norm. The bay covers are simply flat pieces of acrylic with one
notable exception: a small half circle cut out carved into the side."

Haven't we seen these style cases rearing their heads time and time again?? Last one I saw was the Oaks version. Not really a Sunbeam Original like the rest of their range now is it?cry.gif

MrPCPro.com on a Logitech MX Mice Roundup comparing the MX range from Logitech.

Furioustech look at one of the latest in optical mouse tracking surfaces. The Litepads Enhanced Surface Pro, see what they thought.

Commell LV-670

This is one of those mini mobos for your little shuttle box. This one is for the P4 and is not a cheap option. As expected it comes with everything including "Intel Extreme Graphics" Extremely what is a valid question though. The saving grace is that on the performance stakes this is definately a pocket rocket. Hexus get impressed with this one.

Titch 07:38PM, May 18, 2003, GMT

Three cases and a window.

Well, three cases here for you too look at.
The first is the A+GPB BB4368 Galaxy reviewed by Modsynergy who proves that though it might glitter it can be closer related to what comes out of the back of cows than glittering metals.
http://www.thetechlounge.com/reviews/platinum_xp/index.gif

On the other hands with the Platinum XP reviewed by The Tech Lounge shows that you don't need to hand over shed loads of the glittering stuff to get a half desent case.
Lastly with the cases comes the Cooler Master ATCS 110B-SX1 which is reviewed by Hexus and yes, they loved it
rolleyes.gif. To go with your new coolermaster, if you have any cash left, is the Coolermaster's Aluminium Side Panel with Acrylic Window reviewed by HW Guru. Well, you dont want to risk cutting your new coolermaster do you.. tongue.gif

Titch 07:30PM, May 18, 2003, GMT

Bits...

This is a very interesting editorial done by Rojakpot who looks at the different flavours of nForce 2 chipset to see which is the best all rounder. Be prepaired for a shock....
Why people get loads of great kit then power it by a crappy little PSU beats me. The A+GPB 450W Triple Ceramic Fan Power Supply reviewed by Modsynergy has quality stamped all over it, and not as is quality control...tongue.gif
Well, for all you peeps with laptops, the Lapvantage Dome laptop stand reviewed by MyGamer looks a well executed idea. A few more pickies would help though. This is followed by a review of Altec Lansing's XA3051 Speaker System by the same site.
Then comes a review of the Thermaltake Volcano 11+ at PC Techzone who needs to use a spell checker.smilewink.gif

Titch 07:06PM, May 18, 2003, GMT

Two from Club Overclocker

Well there are two new postings at Club OC. The first one is some TwinMOS PC3200 (DDR400) which has been doing the rounds. This is followed by the Cooler Master Aero 7 which has that radial fan that I have on my old Silverado. I have to admit though, it works well on the Silverado so....

Titch 06:47PM, May 18, 2003, GMT

Lap up Modthebox

http://www.modthebox.com/reviews/autodeletepro/adplapkit/adplapkit6_new.jpg

I can see where a lapping kit has its use, but a good guide like that done by JohnL on The Modfathers and a trip to a car store is just as good.

On the other hand the Zalman ZM-MFC1 Multi Fan Speed Controller that they looked at by BigDaddy
http://www.modthebox.com/reviews/zalman/zmmfc1/zalman10_new.jpg

looks like another quality product from Zalman. I do like that transparent look with the PCB showing behind.

Titch 06:40PM, May 18, 2003, GMT

More trouble at the top.

http://www.ocia.net/reviews/8rda+/epox1.jpg

Yep, someone else has had fun reviewing the Epox 8RDA+ with its dodgy bios. This time it was OCIA who were a lot kinder than the board or Epox deserves. More latitude has been given to Epox over their bios bugs than they deserve at this stage. Too many boards and too much time. They are a company that should have got it fixed by now. No excuses.

Titch 06:07PM, May 18, 2003, GMT

Envy News.

Will there are a couple over at Envy News. First they do some sliding with some Mouse Wax and then they finish it of with this review on
http://www.envynews.com/reviews/images/387/thumbnail.jpg

This wireless card, the SanDisk CompactFlash 802.11b WiFi Connect card and hit upon a couple of other topics worth reading at the same time.
